Fuyu
Asian persimmon
Blooms in the same window. Zone fit is unknown or not a major tie-breaker here. Chill needs line up well.
Why choose this?
Fuyu is sweet with just enough acidity to stay lively, with very crisp, firm texture and medium fruit. In this group, this brings more acidity and bite than most of the others shown. Choose it for fresh eating, slicing, salads, and a non-astringent persimmon, but skip it if you want growers who prefer the most intense, concentrated persimmon sweetness that only develops in soft astringent types. It usually ripens around mid to late October, earlier than most of the others shown.
