Garden by Willowbottom is operated by Whitney Stokes, doing business as Willowbottom, based in Ohio, USA. You can reach us at garden@willowbottom.com.

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. We store the garden data you create - including journal entries, planting logs, garden plans, harvest records, seed inventory, and photos you upload. We also store your USDA growing zone and zip code to provide location-aware features like weather guidance and planting recommendations.

We collect this information because the app cannot function without it. Your journal is yours. Your planting logs are yours. We store them so you can access them across devices and so they persist between sessions.

We do not collect payment information directly - payments are processed securely by Stripe and Systeme.io, and we never see your card details. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as described in this policy.

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use Garden - which features are used most, which pages are visited, and general usage patterns. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects anonymized data about your browser and device. This data does not personally identify you. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by using a browser with tracking protection enabled.

We use this data to improve the app. That is its only purpose.

Garden works with a small number of trusted services to operate:

• –Cloudflare - we use Cloudflare to host Garden and store your data. Your data is stored in Cloudflare's secure infrastructure.
• –Resend - we use Resend to send transactional emails like password resets and welcome emails.
• –Anthropic - the Ask Garden advisor and plant profile generation features use Anthropic's Claude AI. Questions you ask and photos you upload for diagnosis are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data. Photos and questions are not used to train AI models.
• –Stripe and Systeme.io - payment processing for Garden Pro subscriptions. We never see or store your payment details.
• –Google Analytics - anonymized usage analytics as described above.

We have chosen these services carefully and only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Photos you upload to Garden - whether for journal entries or plant problem diagnosis - are stored securely in Cloudflare R2 object storage. They are not shared with anyone. They are not used to train any AI systems. You can delete your photos by deleting the journal entry they are attached to. Deleting your account permanently removes all photos.

You can access all your garden data at any time through the app. You can export your journal entries and planting logs from your account settings. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account Settings page - this deletion is permanent and immediate.

Garden uses cookies to keep you logged in between sessions. We do not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics uses cookies for anonymized analytics as described above. Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings.

Garden is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy we will notify registered users by email. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.
