Chester
Same fruit type
Blooms in the same window. Zone fit is unknown or not a major tie-breaker here.
Why choose this?
Chester is sweet with just enough acidity to stay lively, with firm, dense flesh and large fruit. In this group, it gives some of the largest fruit and feels more substantial than most of the others shown. Choose it for extending the blackberry season into the latest summer slot, fresh eating, and cold-climate gardens (hardy to zone 5), but skip it if you want an intense, complex blackberry flavor - Chester is mild and pleasant rather than boldly flavored. It usually ripens around mid August, later than most of the others shown.
