Thornless Evergreen
Same fruit type
Blooms in the same window. Zone fit is unknown or not a major tie-breaker here.
Why choose this?
Thornless Evergreen is sweet with a soft acidic lift, with firm, dense flesh and medium fruit. In this group, it is one of the firmest choices, so it handles baking, slicing, or holding its shape better. Choose it for Pacific Northwest and mild-winter West Coast gardens where the trailing type thrives and large volumes are wanted, but skip it if you want cold-climate gardens below zone 6 - Thornless Evergreen is suited to mild-winter climates and does not survive hard freezes reliably. It usually ripens around mid August, later than most of the others shown.
