Osage
Same fruit type
Blooms in the same window. Zone fit is unknown or not a major tie-breaker here.
Why choose this?
Osage is lightly sweet with a definite tart edge, with firm, dense flesh and medium fruit. In this group, it is one of the latest ripening choices. Choose it for mid-Atlantic and upper South gardens, and the most cold-hardy erect thornless option for zones 5 to 9, but skip it if you want the largest possible berry - Ouachita and Apache edge Osage on fruit size. It usually ripens around mid July to early August, later than most of the others shown.
