Organic Solutions
Remove infected plants
Dig out and destroy any vine showing virus symptoms promptly - there is no cure and aphids will spread it to neighbouring vines.
Aphid control
Control aphid populations with reflective mulch and insecticidal soap sprays to reduce spread of the virus to healthy plants.
Prevention
- Source virus-free certified planting stock from reputable nurseries only
- Do not propagate from any vine that has shown symptoms
- Keep aphid populations low throughout the growing season as they are the primary vector
